What if you could eat dark cherries, chocolate chips and maple syrup for breakfast and still have the body you want?? This recipe for overnight oats is so incredibly simple to make and feels like a treat, but, it's a treat you can have every day!!

Simple to make

At the heart of the 101 plan is simplicity, none of us have hours to spend in the kitchen every day and that’s why we love breakfast overnight oats.

With cherries, chocolate, cinnamon and maple syrup, there is nothing not to love about this breakfast and to boost the protein content you can add in a scoop of your favourite protein powder. If you are sat wondering what in the world protein powder is don’t worry, you don’t have to have it, if you are eating a balanced diet you will pick up your protein in other meals across the day.

To make this even less effort you can make a few days’ worth at the same time – so long as you keep it covered it will be fine in the fridge for a couple of days.

This recipe makes two servings and takes around 10 minutes to make, and once you’ve made it a few times it’ll probably only take you 5 minutes to throw it all in a bowl.

Ingredients

50g rolled oats

1 tablespoon unsweetened cocoa powder

125ml unsweetened almond milk

100g frozen dark, sweet cherries

1 teaspoon of chocolate chips

1 teaspoon of pure maple syrup

small pinch of salt

1/4 teaspoon cinnamon

Instructions

1. In a container mix together the rolled oats, cocoa powder, cinnamon and salt. Next add in the almond milk, vanilla extract and pure maple syrup.

2. Stir together until all the ingredients are nicely combined.

3. Place the cherries on top.

4. Cover and place in the fridge for 3-5 hrs (ideally overnight)

5. Before eating stir in the chocolate chips. Add a little extra almond milk if needed to get the consistency that you like...then serve and enjoy.

Tips

As with all of our overnight oats recipes, you can bump the protein content by simply adding a scoop if your favourite protein powder to the mix.

Do measure the chocolate chips and the maple syrup, adding extra will quickly bump up the overall calories.
